Two temporary therapists for the Nuuk therapeutic team

About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for two temporary physiotherapists or occupational therapists to join the therapeutic team in Nuuk for a six‑month assignment, starting as early as 1 November 2026. The team works across child, adult, rehabilitation and disability & social psychiatry areas, supporting citizens with physical, cognitive or psychiatric challenges to achieve greater independence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct professional assessments and evaluations of clients.
• Provide maintenance training in clients’ homes, training facilities, pools, etc.
• Perform home visits for training, instruction and assessment.
• Process applications for assistive devices and housing adaptations.
• Purchase, dispense and train users on assistive devices.
• Collaborate with clients, relatives and multidisciplinary partners.
• Offer written and oral advice to citizens and partners.
• Maintain documentation and handle administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
• Experience with training and assistive devices in a municipal setting.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of assistive devices and ability to work independently.
• Creative, engaged, action‑oriented and professionally grounded.
• Adaptable to different cultures and flexible in a changing environment.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Fluency in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, not a requirement.
