About the role

Gadeteamet is looking for a qualified Social Worker to join its multidisciplinary team serving homeless and socially vulnerable citizens in Nuuk. The role combines street outreach, social skills training, and coordinated support through the Uummateqarfik/Hjerterummet facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct street outreach in Nuuk’s shelters and public areas to engage homeless individuals.
• Provide social skills training both in group settings and one‑on‑one at clients’ homes.
• Develop individualized action plans, document progress, and ensure continuous follow‑up.
• Facilitate access to basic services such as showers, clean clothing, haircuts, and emergency shelter.
• Collaborate with partner organisations, including the emergency shelter staff and the Uummateqarfik/Hjerterummet centre.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker (Socialrådgiver) with a genuine curiosity for the target group.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable and homeless clients.
• Resilient, systematic, and comfortable with clear documentation and planning.
• Strong communication skills in Greenlandic and Danish; English is a plus.
• Familiarity with the city of Nuuk and flexible, solution‑oriented mindset.
