About the role

The municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is looking for a Personnel Lawyer to strengthen legal quality in personnel matters and support managers across Greenland's largest municipality. You will act as a key legal partner, ensuring consistent and correct application of employment and administrative law.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and guide managers and HR partners on employment and personnel law issues.
• Handle complex personnel cases, providing legal sparring throughout the process.
• Assist in drafting hearings, decisions, warnings, dismissals and expulsions.
• Prepare legal memoranda, employment‑law correspondence and responses to external authorities.
• Interpret collective agreements, civil service legislation and relevant statutes.
• Ensure proper administrative law practice in personnel matters.
• Develop legal guidelines, templates and procedures for HR.
• Participate in difficult conversations as legal support and contribute to quality assurance of HR processes.

Required profile

• Legal degree (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or BA.jur. with relevant experience).
• Solid experience in employment and personnel law, preferably in the public sector.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to translate legal concepts into practical solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to convey complex legal material clearly.
• Structured, independent work style with a proactive attitude.
• Collaborative mindset, willing to share knowledge and support colleagues.
