About the role

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking an experienced Department Leader to head the Job and Guidance Department in Majoriaq, Nuuk. The role involves steering a dynamic team that supports the rapidly evolving labour market, ensuring compliance with current guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the department’s staff, fostering professional growth and providing regular coaching.
• Ensure business processes and case handling are designed, followed, and reported for statistical purposes.
• Collaborate with municipal leaders, labour market partners, educational institutions, and other municipal departments.
• Contribute to political committee case preparations and handle ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Relevant social‑science education.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Knowledge of social, education and labour‑market legislation.
• Familiarity with budgeting and accounting procedures.
• Result‑oriented, conflict‑handling, and strong organisational abilities.
• Bilingual ability in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
