About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a qualified occupational therapist to join its child‑focused therapeutic team. The position is full‑time, based in Nuuk, with travel to other towns and settlements to support children and youth with physical or mental disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Help children and young people under 18 with disabilities maximise their resources and lead active lives.
• Provide guidance and training to children, parents, caregivers and staff in day‑ and night‑care institutions on ADL, sensory profiles, mobility, and assistive devices.
• Assess, prescribe and deliver assistive devices, and train users in their proper use.
• Collaborate closely with other therapists, parents and support persons within the child‑area team.
• Follow Greenlandic legislation‑based quality standards in all therapeutic activities.
• Participate in team‑wide initiatives on assistive‑device provision and training for the wider citizenry.
• Contribute to professional development and maintain thorough documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified occupational therapist with experience in handicap and child‑care settings.
• Creative, action‑oriented and professionally grounded.
• Independent, able to prioritise tasks and keep an overview in a busy environment.
• Flexible, adaptable and experienced in interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Knowledge of Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
