About the role

The municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is looking for an experienced social worker/case manager to join the Children and Family Department in Tasiilaq. The role involves handling a wide range of child and youth cases in accordance with current legislation and contributing to the development of social work practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement social‑work strategies for the department.
• Conduct concrete case handling for children and youth, including investigations, case presentations and grant decisions.
• Prepare and revise action plans, monitor ongoing interventions and ensure thorough documentation.
• Coordinate visits, shared‑care agreements, network meetings, family council decisions, placements and releases.
• Assess support measures, provide regular follow‑up and annual supervision of placed children and youths.
• Participate in sparring meetings to ensure consistent professional approaches across the department.
• Contribute to systematic knowledge collection, workflow clarification and interdisciplinary cooperation with external partners.

Required profile

• Relevant social‑work education (e.g., socialrådgiver, social work advisor, or master’s in social work).
• Solid knowledge of current social legislation and practical experience applying it.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization and within the child‑welfare sector.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, communicate clearly and collaborate broadly.
• Flexibility, resilience and initiative in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Danish; knowledge of Greenlandic is a plus but not mandatory.
