About the role

The Social Helper will work in the after‑school care department of FRO Aqqaluk in Nuuk, supporting children aged 4‑7 during the hours of 7:00‑17:00. The role is full‑time and focuses on creating a safe, stimulating environment for up to 70 children.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children before, during and after school activities.
• Plan and deliver spontaneous activities based on children’s interests.
• Ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for children, parents and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and the wider community.
• Maintain records and follow safeguarding procedures, including obtaining required background checks.

Required profile

• Qualified social helper or equivalent education.
• Genuine interest in working with children.
• Professional attitude and good listening skills.
• Ability to work actively as a team member.
• Experience with school‑age children is preferred.
• Fluency in Danish and Greenlandic is an advantage.

• No specific technical skills are required.
