About the role

The municipality is looking for an engaged and caring support person to assist a child with special needs at Mikisoq kindergarten in Tasiilaq. The role involves daily assistance, training, and fostering the child’s development within an integrated early‑childhood setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support and train the child in psychological, physical and social development.
• Provide social‑pedagogical support according to the child’s action plan.
• Assist with daily tasks and promote greater independence.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and status meetings with administration and parents.
• Collaborate with other staff members and prepare status reports.
• Obtain required criminal and child‑protection certificates before starting work.

Required profile

• Education as a support person or pedagogical qualification, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities; or relevant experience with children and youth.
• Robust, patient, friendly, collaborative, responsible and respectful.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Willingness to engage in pedagogical discussions with colleagues and parents.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
