Støtteperson til specialpædagogisk støtte på Hans Lynge skole

About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a caring and dedicated support person to work with a child who has special needs at Hans Lynge School in the Qinngorput district of Nuuk. This is a full‑time, on‑site position within a modern school environment that serves students from grades 1 to 10.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily social‑pedagogical support in line with the child’s individual plan.
• Assist the child with everyday tasks both at school and in other settings.
• Train the child to increase independence and self‑reliance.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions, and status meetings with parents and municipal officials.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
• Prepare and submit status reports as required.

Required profile

• Qualified as a support person or hold a pedagogical education, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities.
• Alternatively, unqualified candidates with relevant experience working with children and youth are welcome.
• Robust, patient, friendly, reliable, responsible and respectful.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Good teamwork skills and willingness to engage in pedagogical discussions.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
