Employee for the Competence Development Centre in Nuuk

About the role

The Centre supports young people aged 16‑28 with special needs to become more independent, master daily life and explore future opportunities. The position is full‑time (40 hours per week) with primarily daytime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individual and group activities tailored to each young person's needs and goals.
• Support development of daily living skills, independence, social competence and motivation.
• Create structured, predictable and safe environments for participants.
• Monitor and document each participant’s progress.
• Collaborate with families, caseworkers and other relevant partners.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the centre’s practice and programme content.

Required profile

• Relevant professional background such as pedagogue, occupational therapist, teacher or similar social/health education.
• Interest in, and preferably experience with, the target group (autism, ADHD/ADD, anxiety, depression, etc.).
• Strong relational skills, patience and curiosity when working with each young person.
• Ability to work in a structured yet flexible manner and adapt approaches to individuals.
• Capacity to stay calm and maintain overview in challenging situations.
• Self‑reliant, responsible and comfortable working in a close‑knit team.
