About the role

AKO Miniklub in Qinngorput is looking for two full‑time child or social assistants to support after‑school care for children aged 6‑9. The positions start after mutual agreement and involve working alongside school staff to enhance children’s wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supervision and care for children from grades 1‑3 between 07:00 and 17:00.
• Participate in classroom teaching up to two times per week (approximately 4 hours total).
• Plan and lead spontaneous activities based on children’s interests.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment and collaborate with teachers, parents, and colleagues.
• Support children with special needs together with dedicated support staff.

Required profile

• Qualified child or social assistant (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with pedagogical work under the Inatsiartut law and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
• Strong desire to work with children and a professional, flexible attitude.
• Good listening skills, ability to plan activities spontaneously, and experience in childcare.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic/Danish is a plus but not mandatory.
