Department Leader for Integrated Childcare Institution

About the role

We are seeking a Department Leader to manage an age‑integrated childcare institution, Timmiaaqqat, which cares for infants and preschool children. The role involves shaping a safe, nurturing environment where each child can develop socially, emotionally and cognitively.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the institution, ensuring a coherent and secure routine for children.
• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of pedagogues, social assistants and support staff.
• Plan and implement developmental activities that promote independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion.
• Maintain strong relationships with parents and collaborate with them on each child’s progress.
• Ensure compliance with municipal regulations, including the acquisition of required background checks.
• Step in to cover for absent staff and guarantee continuity of care.

Required profile

• Qualified pedagogue (early‑childhood educator) with a formal education.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility and make decisions.
• Collaborative attitude towards colleagues and families.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs.
