Support Person for Special Needs at Nuussuaq School

About the role

The municipality is looking for an engaged and caring support person to assist a child with special needs at Nuussuaq School. The position is part‑time, 25 hours per week, and involves supporting the child’s psychological, physical and social development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide social‑pedagogical support according to the child’s individual plan.
• Assist the child with daily tasks at school and promote greater independence.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions and status meetings with management and parents.
• Collaborate with other staff members and prepare status reports.

Required profile

• Qualified as a support person or with a pedagogical education, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities.
• Patient, robust, friendly, responsible and respectful, able to work independently and in teams.
• Willing to engage in pedagogical discussions and cooperate with colleagues and parents.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Practical abilities to assist children with daily activities.
• Experience working with children and youth, especially those with special needs.
