About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a qualified occupational therapist to join its multidisciplinary Therapeutic Team. The position is full‑time (40 hours) based in a shared office in Nuuk, with regular travel to other towns and settlements. The role starts on 01‑Nov‑2026 or as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Support children and youth (under 18) with physical or mental disabilities to maximise independence and participation.
• Provide guidance and training to children, parents, caregivers, and staff in day‑to‑day activities, ADL, sensory profiling, mobility, and use of assistive devices.
• Assess, prescribe, and dispense assistive equipment, and deliver instruction on its use.
• Document assessments and interventions in accordance with Greenlandic legislation and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the broader therapeutic team on community‑wide assistive‑device and training initiatives.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to the development of the child‑focused service area.

Required profile

• Qualified occupational therapist with experience in disability and paediatric settings.
• Proactive, action‑oriented, and professionally grounded.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and maintain overview in a busy environment.
• Flexible, adaptable and experienced in interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Fluency in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
