Support Person – 20 hours/week

About the role

Ilasiaq School is looking for dedicated support persons to work 20 hours per week with children who need additional special‑pedagogical assistance. The role involves helping students develop socially, emotionally and academically within a full‑day school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized social‑pedagogical support according to each child’s action plan.
• Assist students with daily tasks and promote greater independence.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions and status meetings with the administration and parents.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to ensure a cohesive learning day.
• Prepare status reports and contribute to the development of individualized support strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified as a support person or hold a pedagogical education, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities.
• Alternatively, experience working with children and youth, combined with practical support skills.
• Robust, patient, friendly, collaborative, responsible and respectful.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Willingness to engage in pedagogical discussions with colleagues and parents.
