Chief Financial Officer for Greenland Police

About the role

Grønlands Politi is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function of a high‑activity police organization with a complex geographic and security context. You will be responsible for a budget of approximately DKK 310 million in 2026, rising to DKK 360 million by 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of the finance department, overseeing budgeting, accounting, forecasting, analysis and management reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial oversight to support daily operations and long‑term strategic priorities.
• Develop and improve financial forecasts and management information to increase transparency of resource use.
• Collaborate with senior police leaders on financial prioritisation and cross‑functional solutions.
• Participate in development projects and steering groups, contributing economic assessments.

Required profile

• Relevant higher education in economics or finance with proven experience in financial management and leadership.
• Documented experience leading a team of 9‑10 staff members in a public or politically led organisation.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear decision‑making support and to engage constructively with senior leaders.
• Willingness to conduct analyses, case presentations and practical financial problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Knowledge of state budgeting and accounting principles, preferably from a large public sector organisation.
• Experience with budget planning, economic analysis, forecasting and management reporting.
• Ability to turn financial frameworks into concrete priorities in dialogue with leadership.
