About the role

The position is based in the newly opened unit in Nuuk and involves processing applications for residence and work permits for foreign nationals, as well as providing concrete guidance to both employees and employers.

Key responsibilities

• Make legally sound decisions on permit applications and communicate them to applicants.
• Conduct legal assessments, request additional information when needed, and contribute to the development of unit practice.
• Provide telephone and written advice to users in the citizen centre.
• Handle personal inquiries, collaborate with authorities in Greenland and Denmark, and prepare reports and notes for the ministry.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background, preferably a law degree (cand.jur.) or another social science qualification.
• Willingness to live in Greenland and experience with administrative law.
• Ability to work independently, in a structured and efficient manner.
• Fluent written and spoken Danish and English; knowledge of Greenlandic is a plus.

Required skills

• Legal assessment and case‑management competence.
• Strong written and oral communication in Danish and English.
