About the role

Datatilsynet is establishing a new office in Nuuk and seeks a lawyer to help make data protection accessible and relevant in the Greenlandic context. You will be part of a public authority, contributing to legal advice, case handling and outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to citizens, businesses and public authorities on data protection law.
• Handle legal cases such as complaints, supervision matters, inquiries and access‑to‑information requests.
• Organise meetings, workshops and collaboration forums to foster open dialogue with data controllers, processors and data subjects.

Required profile

• Law degree (cand.jur. or equivalent) with experience in case handling and advisory work.
• Fluent in written and spoken Danish; Greenlandic language skills are an advantage.
• Interest in public law, data protection and technological developments.
• Strong communication skills, service‑oriented, structured and able to prioritize tasks.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of data protection legislation.
• Ability to translate legal rights and obligations into clear, understandable language.
