Kitchen Staff – Nursing Home in Nuuk

About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for five qualified kitchen workers for Utoqqaat Illuat, a nursing home in Nuuk with 47 residents. The kitchen prepares nutritious meals daily for residents and also supplies food to home-dwelling citizens through the municipality's meal distribution scheme. The position is 40 hours per week according to the current roster.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, including special diets
• Bake bread and other baked goods as needed
• Produce meals for home-dwelling citizens
• Work with the kitchen manager on menu planning
• Receive and check deliveries, and comply with HACCP and food hygiene
• Clean and maintain the kitchen and equipment
• Help reduce food waste and contribute to kitchen quality development

Required profile

• Relevant education in cooking, nutrition, baking or catering, or another food-related qualification with experience in a large or production kitchen
• Interest in elderly nutrition and diet
• Ability to work independently and in a structured way, with good teamwork
• Double proficiency in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not required
