General Construction Electrician – Pituffik Space Base, Greenland

About the role

Serco is seeking a General Construction Electrician to support the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on Pituffik Space Base, Greenland. The role involves providing on‑site electrical support for building construction, renovation of the Power Building (J‑Plant), and implementation of High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protective measures.

Key responsibilities

• Install and remove temporary and construction power equipment, run conduit and cable, and create submittals and work plans.
• Perform LOTO procedures, troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, and conduct quality‑control testing and documentation.
• Review design documentation, generate RFIs, support purchase requests, and assist with activity hazard analyses.
• Lead small installation teams when required and maintain compliance with project specifications and drawings.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma/GED and either a journeyman electrical license or at least six years of relevant construction experience.
• Minimum four years of construction‑related experience and ability to interpret installation drawings.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb and work 10‑hour shifts in an arctic environment.

Required skills

• Electrical installation and temporary power setup.
• Conduit and cable routing.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Electrical quality‑control testing and reporting.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• OSHA 10/30/40 certification, MWEP training, forklift, scissor‑lift, aerial‑boom, rigger, confined‑space, CPR/first‑aid certifications.
