Building Engineer – Maintenance of Government Buildings in Nuuk

About the role

Naalakkersuisut, Greenland's central administration, is looking for a building engineer, civil engineer or Arctic engineer to join its Buildings, Renovations, Temporary Accommodation and Procurement team. The team is responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of about 25 government buildings in Nuuk. The position has no management responsibility and involves planning and coordinating technical tasks together with colleagues, external consultants, suppliers and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Technical calculations and assessments of buildings and installations
• Ventilation and other building technical installations, including emergency generators
• Renovations and changes to existing buildings
• Planning and monitoring maintenance plans and annual maintenance schedules
• Tendering and technical specifications, and framework agreements within the department
• Coordinating work with external consultants, suppliers, contractors and partners

Required profile

• Degree in building engineering, civil engineering or Arctic engineering, or another relevant engineering background
• Broad technical understanding of buildings, installations and maintenance
• Good engineering foundation and interest in varied technical tasks
• Structured, team-oriented and able to work independently
• Communication in Danish; Greenlandic is an advantage but not required
• Experience in Greenland or other Arctic areas is an advantage
