General Construction Electrician

About the role

Serco is seeking a General Construction Electrician to support the United States Army Corps of Engineers at Pituffik SB, Greenland. The position involves on‑site electrical work for building construction, renovation of the Power Building (J‑Plant), and implementation of High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protective measures.

Key responsibilities

• Install and remove temporary power equipment and run conduit and cable for fabrication tools.
• Trace cables, isolate circuits, and apply LOTO procedures to ensure safety.
• Review design and vendor documentation, create submittals, RFIs and work plans including material, tool, schedule and manning requirements.
• Support demolition and installation planning, quality‑control planning and schedule development.
• Lead small installation teams when required and report to the Project Manager or Site Superintendent.
• Generate Activity Hazard Analyses, support purchase request creation, and perform electrical quality‑control testing, documentation and reporting.
• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions, assemble or install equipment requiring wiring, soldering or connections.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Journeyman‑level electrical license or at least 6 years of relevant construction experience.
• Minimum 4 years of construction or construction‑related project experience.
• Ability to read and interpret installation and construction drawings.
• Strong organizational, analytical and confidentiality skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
