About the role

Maligiaq is looking for a qualified nutrition assistant to manage the daily kitchen operations and provide healthy, tasty, and safe meals for children. You will work closely with management and pedagogical staff to ensure meals meet nutritional standards, accommodate allergies, and support a positive food culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and prepare balanced, child‑friendly meals.
• Handle allergens, intolerances and documented dietary needs.
• Manage purchasing, receiving, stock control and cost‑effective use of ingredients.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleaning, temperature control and documented self‑checks.
• Reduce food waste and use resources responsibly and sustainably.
• Collaborate with leadership and teaching staff on meals and food culture.
• Organise kitchen workflow to ensure timely and safe service in a busy environment.

Required profile

• Qualified nutrition assistant or equivalent kitchen‑related education.
• Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, hygiene and self‑control procedures.
• Ability to work independently, in a structured and financially responsible manner.
• Sensitivity to children’s varying needs and ability to adapt meals by age and dietary considerations.
• Stable, flexible and collaborative with different professional groups.
• Professional and respectful interaction with children, parents and colleagues.
