About the role

We are looking for a dedicated support person to join Ilasiaq School, a specialized institution for children whose needs cannot be met in mainstream education. The role involves working with students from grades 1‑10 throughout the school day, supporting their personal, social and academic development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide social‑pedagogical support according to each child’s individual plan.
• Assist students with daily tasks and promote greater independence.
• Facilitate movement, creative, and social activities after the academic schedule.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions and status meetings with parents and the administration.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a cohesive school day.
• Prepare and submit status reports on student progress.

Required profile

• Formal education as a support person or pedagogical qualification, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities; or practical experience working with children and youth.
• Robust, patient, friendly, responsible and respectful attitude.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Willingness to engage in pedagogical discussions with colleagues and parents.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
