About the role

The department leader will manage the school‑care program for children in grades 1‑7, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and close collaboration with the local school.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the pedagogical staff and work directly with children.
• Coordinate with the school to ensure a cohesive daily routine.
• Introduce and disseminate new pedagogical methods to staff and parents.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, parents, and staff.
• Participate in administrative and financial management tasks.

Required profile

• Experience in leadership, preferably in early childhood education.
• Strong resilience and ability to stay calm and decisive in challenging situations.
• Familiarity with local social conditions in Ittoqqortoormiit.
• Understanding of mandatory reporting obligations.
• Visible, approachable leadership style.
