5 Teacher Positions Available at Tasiilami Alivarpi School

About the role

Tasiilami Alivarpi School in Tasiilaq is looking for five qualified teachers to join a growing team of 49 educators serving 336 students from grades 1 to 10, including six special‑needs classes. The positions start as soon as possible, with flexible start dates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess lessons across core subjects such as Greenlandic, Danish, English, mathematics and other elementary curriculum areas.
• Support inclusive education by collaborating with special‑education staff and adapting teaching methods to diverse learner needs.
• Maintain a safe, respectful and engaging classroom environment that promotes student well‑being and academic progress.
• Participate in school development initiatives, contributing to the school’s mission, vision and pedagogical direction.
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues and school leadership to ensure cohesive support for each student.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher or equivalent teaching experience.
• Passion for working with children and adolescents in a community‑focused setting.
• Commitment to building strong, inclusive relationships with students.
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents and other professionals.
• Open to innovative pedagogical approaches and continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Ability to teach Greenlandic, Danish, English, mathematics or other primary‑school subjects.
• Experience or interest in special‑needs education, inclusion, classroom management and reading or creative arts instruction.
