About the role

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a dedicated School Consultant to join its School Department. The position starts on 1 November 2026 or later, depending on agreement, and will support the implementation of political goals and high‑quality school administration across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply legislation such as the Folkeskolelov, administrative law, and related regulations.
• Prepare proposals for statutes, guidelines, competence distribution, and strategic focus areas.
• Conduct research, documentation, and impact analysis for municipal political initiatives.
• Provide advice and guidance to political bodies, school leaders, and other internal stakeholders.
• Manage school‑administrative software tools, including TRIO and TEA tabulex.
• Develop and strengthen a common pedagogical and professional platform for all municipal schools.
• Oversee school enrolment processes for incoming first‑grade classes and related after‑school programmes.
• Act as contact point for school counsellors, advisors, and conduct supervisory visits to assigned schools.

Required profile

• Teacher education with further training, leadership experience, or administrative background in the education sector.
• Strong administrative and pedagogical competence.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple agencies and maintain high quality and detail‑orientation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
