Fuldmægtig – Visitation for children and youth

About the role

The municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is looking for a dedicated civil servant to handle visitation tasks for children and youth within the Department of Children and School. The role involves coordinating placements in daycare, schools and other youth services, ensuring smooth processes for families and the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Process applications and allocate children to daycare and early‑childhood programmes, including urgent requests.
• Handle school enrolment for guest students, newcomers and first‑grade admissions.
• Maintain, update and audit waiting lists for daycare services.
• Manage admissions and withdrawals from daycare institutions.
• Provide information and support to parents of children on waiting lists or already enrolled.
• Calculate fees, issue invoices and adjust rates according to income changes.
• Perform general office duties related to visitation services.

Required profile

• Completed office administration training or equivalent.
• Experience with similar public‑sector administrative tasks is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, including proficiency in Danish, Greenlandic and basic English.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining overview.
• Flexibility regarding work assignments and adjustments in workload.
• Structured, focused work style in a fast‑paced environment.
• Outgoing, approachable demeanor with a service‑oriented attitude.
• Bilingual written and spoken skills, capable of handling minor interpreting tasks.
