Special Consultant – Border Area & Schengen (Police)

About the role

Grønlands Politi is seeking an experienced police officer for a newly created special consultant position focused on the border area, including Schengen matters. The role will be based in Nuuk and involves shaping the police force’s approach to border control, travel, and international obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and develop border‑area tasks for Grønlands Politi.
• Advise management and relevant units on border‑related issues.
• Oversee Schengen compliance and border‑control procedures.
• Support operations at airports and other border crossing points.
• Develop, maintain, and quality‑assure procedures, instructions and workflows.
• Coordinate with Danish and Greenlandic authorities and participate in national and international forums.
• Facilitate competence development for staff handling border tasks.
• Analyze new requirements, risks and trends affecting the border area.

Required profile

• Experienced police officer with strong knowledge of border control and Schengen regulations.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative and collaborate across agencies.
• Excellent analytical and advisory skills.
• Commitment to high professional standards and consistent quality.
