About the role

The municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking a qualified and motivated school consultant to join the School Department. The position starts on 01.11.2026 (or later by agreement) and involves supporting the implementation of educational policies and school administration across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply legislation such as the Folkeskolelov, administrative law, and related regulations.
• Develop proposals for statutes, guidelines, competence distribution, and strategic focus areas.
• Provide research, documentation, impact analysis, and advisory support to political bodies and organizational units.
• Coordinate with external partners, other authorities, and internal departments.
• Administer school‑administrative software tools (e.g., TRIO, TEA Tabulex).
• Strengthen a common pedagogical and professional platform for all municipal schools, including supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance.
• Oversee school enrollment for incoming first‑grade classes and manage after‑school programs (AKO/SPO/FRO).
• Act as contact point for school counselors, advisors, and conduct supervisory visits.

Required profile

• Teacher education with further training, leadership experience, or administrative background in the school sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, quality‑focused, and capable of handling several tasks simultaneously.
• Clear communication skills and a stable, reliable work ethic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with school administrative programs such as TRIO and TEA Tabulex.
