Event- og Projektkoordinator til Fritid og Kultur

About the role

The municipality of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is looking for an enthusiastic Event and Project Coordinator to join the Leisure and Culture department. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a wide range of cultural and leisure events that bring citizens together across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate major municipal events such as National Day, Christmas tree lighting, Aasarpalaaq Festival and other cultural celebrations.
• Work closely with the management secretariat to plan and execute large‑scale events, defining roles and responsibilities for each occasion.
• Plan, run and evaluate events, often occurring evenings and weekends.
• Lead project management for larger festivals, including budget planning and financial follow‑up.
• Collaborate with associations, cultural actors, volunteers, suppliers and other partners.
• Contribute to the development of new cultural projects and festivals, including the Suialaa Arts Festival.
• Handle logistics, safety and practical execution of events.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant education in event management, culture, administration, project management, communication or comparable experience.
• Proven experience in planning, coordinating and delivering events or large activities.
• Experience working across organisations, authorities, associations or external partners.
• Strong planning and project‑management competencies.
