About the role

We are looking for a Department Leader to manage the integrated daycare Apisseq. The role is based in the Nuunukkut room, caring for children up to 1½ years, and involves overseeing the whole institution, which serves 69 children across nurseries and kindergarten groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate staff across the two nurseries and three kindergarten rooms.
• Ensure a smooth transition for children moving from nursery to kindergarten.
• Create a creative, safe, and stimulating environment for children.
• Maintain focus on each child’s development and learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the institution to support shared goals.
• Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified pedagogue with a strong educational background.
• Willingness to take responsibility and initiative.
• Ability to keep an overview, act honestly, and work collaboratively.
• Interest in leadership and staff development.
• Knowledge of both Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not mandatory.
