Two Health Care Assistants Needed for Day Shifts in Nuuk

About the role

Hjemmehjælpen Nuuk is looking for two qualified health care assistants to work day shifts providing home‑based support to around 290 residents. The role involves personal care, household assistance, and promoting the well‑being of clients so they can stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, hygiene assistance, and support with daily living activities.
• Assist with cleaning, shopping and other household tasks.
• Provide guidance, rehabilitation exercises and health‑promoting activities.
• Administer medication, document care activities and assess client needs.
• Support the onboarding of new clients and their relatives.
• Identify and respond to physical or mental health symptoms.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, supervisors and other home‑care staff.
• Mentor unqualified staff and student assistants.

Required profile

• Qualified health care assistant or equivalent education.
• Responsible, stable and able to take ownership of tasks.
• Committed to raising professional standards and using existing competencies.
• Respectful of individual differences and able to work with diverse clients.
• Initiative‑taking, independent and collaborative.
• Willingness to contribute to development and improvement.
• Driving licence is an advantage, bilingual ability is a plus but not required.
