About the role

The school Atuarfik Ilasiaq is looking for an engaged social worker to support students with special needs across its two departments. You will work on‑site, coordinating social services, counselling students and families, and collaborating closely with teachers and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for students on social‑related matters and develop individual action plans.
• Provide advice and guidance to teachers regarding student needs.
• Conduct regular student meetings together with parents and monitor progress.
• Promote prevention initiatives, including anti‑bullying measures.
• Collaborate with external partners such as MISI and Peqqik on preventive work.
• Maintain close cooperation with school leadership, lead network meetings and contribute to emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker or equivalent education.
• Relevant experience working with children who have special needs.
• Fluent in Greenlandic and Danish.
• Ability to work independently, efficiently and take responsibility.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents and school staff.
• Creative, idea‑driven and comfortable using IT tools.
