Social Helper for Daginstitutionen Nuka

About the role

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is looking for a qualified social helper (or similar) to join the staff of Daginstitutionen Nuka, a daycare for children aged 3‑6. The position involves supporting daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and collaborating closely with families and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the room when the leader, deputy or pedagogical staff are absent.
• Act as a role model for other staff members.
• Collaborate closely with parents and other professionals to develop activities and care plans.
• Participate in daily routines, outdoor walks, healthy meals and physical activities for the children.

Required profile

• Formal education as a social helper or a comparable qualification.
• Motivation to work actively with children and the ability to stay present and engaged.
• Strong collaborative skills and willingness to work as an equal partner with colleagues.
• Creativity and openness to experiment with new activities.
• Stability, good personal values and the capacity to handle multiple tasks during a busy day.
• Cheerful attitude and a commitment to contribute to continuous improvement of the service.
