Service Technician – Airport Detection Systems

About the role

The Service Technician will install, repair, maintain and support Rapiscan detection equipment at Greenland airports, primarily Nuuk, Ilulissat and Qaqortoq. This customer‑facing, field‑based position requires strong technical ability, self‑motivation and excellent communication while working largely unsupervised with remote support.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and service the full Rapiscan product portfolio, including Explosive Detection Systems (EDS).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in line with contractual and SLA requirements.
• Conduct system‑level troubleshooting on complex, multi‑system technical issues.
• Interact daily with airport operators, technicians and BHS managers regarding equipment status.
• Support and participate in complex site installations and conduct site surveys.
• Prepare and complete Field Modification Instructions, planned maintenance, corrective repairs, service inspections and reports.
• Accurately document all service activities and administrative tasks.
• Contribute to local customer teams, share best practices and assist in operator training.
• Escalate quality, safety or integrity issues promptly and ensure compliance with EHS policies.

Required profile

• Self‑driven professional able to work independently in remote locations.
• Willingness to work shift patterns, including call‑outs, weekends and public holidays.
• Readiness to travel between Greenland airports as required.
• Strong communication skills for daily interaction with airport personnel.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to document work accurately and meet contractual deadlines.
