Part-Time Support Worker (24 hours per week)

About the role

A new school in Greenland with about 1,000 students across grades 1–10 and nine special classes is looking for engaged and caring support workers. The positions are part-time, 24 hours per week. The school focuses on 21st-century competences, project-based learning, teamwork and strengthening pupils' academic level.

Key responsibilities

• Support and train children in their psychological, physical and social development
• Provide social pedagogical support according to the goals set in each child's action plan
• Help with daily tasks in the day-care setting where the child is
• Train children for greater independence
• Take part in staff meetings, supervision and status meetings with administration and parents
• Cooperate with other staff at the child's place and prepare status reports

Required profile

• Trained as a support worker or holds a pedagogical education, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities; alternatively unskilled with experience with children and young people and practical support skills
• Robust, patient, friendly, stable, responsible and respectful
• Able to take responsibility and work independently
• Willing to cooperate with colleagues and parents and join pedagogical discussions
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not required
