About the role

The integrated institution MUKU in Nuussuaq is looking for a qualified pedagogue to join its full‑time staff. You will work with children aged from infancy to preschool in a setting that serves 72 children, operating from 07:00 to 17:00.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily care and educational activities for infants (12 children) and preschool groups (60 children).
• Apply appreciative pedagogy, using nature as a teaching tool and fostering respect for diversity.
• Create a safe, supportive environment that encourages each child’s development.
• Collaborate with the leader, deputy leader, department heads, and other staff members.
• Follow institutional policies, maintain documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified pedagogue or equivalent professional education.
• Positive, welcoming attitude toward children, staff, and parents.
• Stable, reliable, and able to maintain an overview of daily operations.
• Experience with the seven pedagogical principles and anti‑bullying (Kammagiitta) practices.
• Knowledge of child‑development theories such as Howard Gardner, Daniel Stern, Piaget, Abraham Maslow, and Lev Vygotsky.
• Familiarity with MIIM 3 and MIIM 5 frameworks.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the listed child‑development theories.
• Ability to implement appreciative pedagogy and nature‑based learning.
• Understanding of anti‑bullying strategies and MIIM assessment tools.
