About the role

The Family Counselor will work in the newly established intervention area of Qaammartsaavi in Amarngivat, supporting vulnerable children and families. The role involves conducting family assessments, providing guidance on care and communication, and participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive family assessments and home visits.
• Provide counseling on parenting, communication, and family roles.
• Develop and implement social‑pedagogical interventions for children and families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case planning and coordination with internal and external partners such as police, health centre, schools, and daycare institutions.
• Offer open‑door advisory services and handle ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by the treatment leader.

Required profile

• Relevant social‑work education (e.g., pedagogue, health assistant, social helper, early‑childhood consultant).
• Extensive experience with holistic family treatment and work with at‑risk children.
• Ability to work independently with high personal and professional integrity.
• Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills.
