About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for an independent and engaged business consultant to support economic development in Tasiilaq, the surrounding villages and Ittoqqortoormiit. The role is based in Tasiilaq and involves close collaboration with local companies, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to turn opportunities into concrete initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the business sector in Tasiilaq, nearby villages and Ittoqqortoormiit based on local strengths, needs and opportunities.
• Manage the secretariat function for the East Business Forum, coordinating meetings, workshops and follow‑up activities.
• Translate political decisions and municipal business policy into concrete actions together with local actors and relevant administrations.
• Support dialogue with companies, entrepreneurs and the business council, preparing meetings, gathering input and tracking agreed initiatives.
• Coordinate business‑related initiatives across Tasiilaq, surrounding villages and Ittoqqortoormiit, ensuring continuous contact with stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, notes and status updates on the business area and contribute to planning and execution of local meetings and activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently, be proactive and create momentum through collaboration.
• Understanding of working in a politically governed organisation and translating decisions into actions.
• Clear communication skills with businesses, citizens, partners and colleagues.
• Analytical and structured approach to data, economics and project follow‑up.
• Strong collaboration skills and capacity to bring diverse actors together around common solutions.
