About the role

Atuarfik Inussuk, a newly developing school in Greenland, is looking for engaged and caring support persons to work part‑time (24 hours per week) with children aged 1‑10 and in special classes. The role focuses on supporting the psychological, physical and social development of each child.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general support and training for the child's mental, physical and social development.
• Deliver social‑pedagogical support according to the child's action plan.
• Assist with daily tasks in the school environment.
• Train the child to increase independence.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and status meetings with administration and parents.
• Collaborate with other staff and prepare status reports.

Required profile

• Educated as a support person or with a pedagogical background, preferably with knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities; or unqualified with experience working with children and practical support skills.
• Robust, patient, friendly, collaborative, responsible and respectful.
• Able to work independently and take responsibility.
• Willing to engage in pedagogical discussions and cooperate with colleagues and parents.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage.
