About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for dedicated professionals to join its Department of Preventive Measures and Counseling. The role focuses on early‑stage support, family‑preserving work and holistic solutions aimed at strengthening the wellbeing, development and relationships of children, youth and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide treatment and support programmes for children, adolescents and families.
• Conduct relational and motivational work with families.
• Identify early signs of need and implement preventive interventions.
• Develop action plans and maintain thorough documentation.
• Collaborate across disciplines with internal and external partners such as schools, daycare centres, health services and social authorities.
• Participate in meetings, network activities and coordination tasks.
• Handle ad‑hoc assignments as required.

Required profile

• Relevant social‑professional education (e.g., social work, pedagogy or similar).
• Experience with family treatment, relational work or preventive social work is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and produce accurate documentation.
• Strong understanding of children’s, youths’ and families’ wellbeing and development.
• Stable, responsible and quality‑focused attitude.
• Capability to work independently while contributing to a close‑knit team.
• Excellent relational, communication and trust‑building skills.
• Structured work style, flexibility and solution‑orientation.
• Positive contribution to the development of preventive work.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is a plus, but not mandatory.
