About the role

The Open Counseling service provides early, preventive and anonymous advice to children, youth and families who need support, guidance or crisis conversations. The role aims to create a safe, easily accessible offering where families can receive help before problems develop.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct counseling and support conversations with children, youth and families.
• Provide crisis talks for families in acute or stressful situations.
• Deliver early and preventive interventions.
• Engage in relational and motivational work.
• Guide and support parents and families.
• Assess needs for further referral to relevant services.
• Handle ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Relevant social‑professional education (e.g., social work, pedagogy, therapy).
• Experience with counseling, crisis talks or family treatment is an advantage.
• Professional insight into the wellbeing and development of children, youth and families.
• Ability to build safe relationships and work in a holistic, appreciative manner.

Required skills

• Stable, responsible and quality‑focused.
• Works independently and in a structured way.
• Strong collaboration abilities.
• Clear oral and written communication.
• Maintains calm and overview in pressured situations.
• Flexible, solution‑oriented and contributes positively to preventive work.
• Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is a plus, but not required.
