About the role

Utoqqaat Illuat, a 24‑hour care institution under Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, is looking for three dedicated health assistants to support its 47 residents across several departments. The role focuses on delivering compassionate, person‑centred care that enhances the quality of life for elderly and dementia‑affected residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic care and assistance tailored to each resident’s needs, wishes and resources.
• Support residents’ physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing.
• Observe health changes, respond professionally, and report observations.
• Document care activities, observations and agreements clearly and accurately.
• Participate in resident activities and preventive initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues, management, families and external partners.
• Contribute to a safe, respectful and dignified daily environment for residents.

Required profile

• Qualified health assistant or equivalent relevant education.
• Interest in working with elderly people and those with dementia.
• Patient, caring and calm, especially in challenging situations.
• Responsible, stable, flexible and collaborative.
• Able to work independently, take initiative and document clearly.
• Respect confidentiality and maintain a clear work‑life balance.
• Willing to work rotating shifts and every other weekend.
• Committed to improving care quality.
