About the role

Nuuk International Free School is looking for a caring and engaged support person to work with a 6th‑grade girl. The position starts on 1 October 2026 and involves 40 hours per week, primarily focused on social integration, daily structure, and overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support in social situations and classroom routines.
• Assist the student in navigating the school community and building peer relationships.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and the child’s parents.
• Help create a safe, structured environment that promotes the student’s wellbeing.

Required profile

• Patient, empathetic, and attentive to the child’s needs.
• Ability to foster security and structure in daily activities.
• Motivation to develop the child’s social competencies and relationships.
• Capacity to work independently while being an active team member.
• Experience with children who have special needs.
• Strong communication skills with both parents and colleagues.
• Pedagogical or teaching background is advantageous but not mandatory.
