About the role
The Department for Children and Family is seeking a full‑time Social Worker to handle case management for children and youth. The position works Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week, and involves comprehensive support for families in need.
Key responsibilities
- Process child‑related cases, including thorough documentation of all relevant information.
- Gather and exchange information with relevant authorities based on case needs.
- Develop, revise, and assess care plans and determine the suitability of ongoing measures for families.
- Refer and triage cases to appropriate services.
- Conduct interviews with citizens, children, and partners.
- Coordinate visits, custody agreements, network meetings, family council decisions, placements, changes in placement, and reintegration.
- Assess the need for placement and create a gentle placement plan in collaboration with parents and placement facilities.
- Handle various applications such as extra expenses, projects, travel, school stays, placement changes, reintegration, and after‑care.
- Perform annual supervision visits for placed children and youth.
- Prepare support letters for psychiatry, welfare services, or other agencies.
- Conduct social‑professional investigations and adhere to current regulations and internal guidelines.
- Participate in peer‑review meetings to ensure consistent professional practice.
- Contribute to respectful teamwork and external collaboration.
- Take part in on‑call duty outside regular hours.
Required profile
- Qualified social worker or equivalent social‑service education.
- Broad experience with child case management, documentation, and meeting facilitation.
- Strong conversational skills, confidence‑building, and familiarity with various interview techniques.
- Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, adaptable, and psychologically resilient.
- Solution‑focused with ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Excellent written communication skills and proficiency with IT systems (approximately 80 % administrative work).
- Willingness to travel for supervision visits when required.
