Lead Social Worker – Children & Family Department (Paamiut)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Social Worker to head the Children and Family Department in Paamiut. The role combines professional case management with team leadership, ensuring high‑quality services for children, families and foster‑care arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high level of professional specialization within the department.
• Delegate cases and oversee case processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal procedures.
• Quality‑assure case work, manage deadlines and control the administrative basis.
• Provide daily professional leadership, supervise and train staff in social‑work methods.
• Offer case‑specific sparring, monitor competence and delegation plans, and handle additional tasks as agreed with the department head.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with solid experience in child and family services.
• Willingness and proven ability to lead a team; leadership experience is an advantage.
• Strong professional integrity, resilience and result‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to develop personal leadership, collaborate in a management team and adopt a respectful, pragmatic approach.
• Interest in working in an evolving organization; knowledge of Greenlandic society and language is a plus but not mandatory.
