About the role

The municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a versatile and engaged consultant to support the accounting team within the Finance Department. The role involves working across both creditor and debtor functions, contributing to process optimisation and ensuring smooth financial operations for municipal staff.

Key responsibilities

• Process creditor invoices from receipt to approval and execute payments.
• Handle debtor invoicing, from issuance to receipt of payments.
• Perform regular reconciliations of creditors, debtors, and banks against monthly deadlines.
• Disburse benefits to citizens based on data imports from specialised modules.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries and provide training as needed.
• Manage Acubiz user accounts and perform bookkeeping for travel expenses, advances and other reimbursements.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tasks supporting the Finance Department.

Required profile

• Experience with creditor or debtor accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and reconciliation tasks.
• Service‑oriented attitude with a positive approach to new initiatives.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing workload distribution.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel
• Acubiz (user administration and expense bookkeeping)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX (preferred, not mandatory)
