Ore Processing Manager

About the role

The Ore Processing Manager will lead the daily operations of a gold recovery processing plant, overseeing all stages from crushing to doré production. This role ensures that production, recovery, safety, and cost targets are met while maintaining a strong safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily processing plant operations to achieve production, recovery, safety, and cost objectives.
• Oversee and optimise crushing, grinding, gravity recovery, flotation, concentrate handling, filtration, and pyrometallurgical systems.
• Monitor metallurgical performance and implement strategies to maximise gold recovery and concentrate quality.
• Direct gravity recovery circuits, intensive leaching, gold‑room activities and related equipment.
• Manage flotation circuit performance, reagent strategies and concentrate quality control.
• Supervise pyrometallurgical activities including concentrate drying, smelting, doré production, furnace operation and flux management.
• Coordinate commissioning, start‑up, shutdown and ramp‑up activities across all operational areas.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, metallurgical and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Review production data, process trends and plant performance metrics to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Coach, mentor and manage plant supervisors, operators and technical teams.
• Oversee laboratory operations, monitor turnaround times and ensure resources meet site requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading daily processing plant operations in a mining or metallurgical environment.
• Strong focus on safety, environmental compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop plant personnel.
• Experience coordinating commissioning, start‑up and shutdown activities.
• Ability to analyse production data and drive continuous improvement.
